Some fun facts

I'd almost always rather be outdoors ( hence my header image ☝️). My first love is classical art. I played soccer in college, I still play in an adult social league, and follow the English Premier League religiously. I'm a self-professed coffee snob. I obsess over rare bourbon whiskey. I'm addicted to Chipotle burritos. I prefer rain over sunshine ( most of the time ). My favorite place on earth is the walk between the Louvre museum and the Arc de Triomphe along the Champs-Élysées in Paris.

More about me

My background is deeply rooted in communications and professional writing. I have held multiple positions in the traditional communications arena, as well as evolving into digital communications and multimedia services for various companies ranging from small tech startups, to globally-recognized sports organizations, including ESPN, Monumental Sports & Entertainment, and D.C. United, making contributions in areas such as production, content strategy, and media relations.

Combining my passions for technology and digital media, I have shifted my focus to developing creative strategies and digital consulting skills, which I have been practicing for the better part of the last 10 years. In 2010, while a student at the University of Kentucky, I was contracted to aid digital public relations and online marketing efforts for the Opening Ceremonies Committee of the 2010 Alltech/FEI World Equestrian Games, while also assisting in the development, marketing, and sales of the event-specific, iOS mobile application.

In 2012, I studied at the University of London (United Kingdom) through an Anglo-American education exchange program and got my first taste of startup life working with SportInspired, a small business that pairs organized social activities for inner-city youth with corporate sponsors and corporate social responsibility initiatives. While there, my primary role was leading social media development, brand marketing, and media relations networking. I worked closely with the company’s ownership to effectively utilize new media communication tactics to connect with the local community to promote SportInspired's brand and product, their "Community Games."

This experience shaped my view of startup culture, which I found to be exhausting, yet extremely rewarding. From there, I understood the true value of idea-oriented creative strategy and what it meant to "shape a brand," and knew from that point forward that this was the kind of work that I wanted to be doing!
